A simple 10-minute pattern (use this all week)
(1) ARRIVE — 1 minute
Sit down. Phone down. Breathe. Say out loud: “Father, I’m here.” (pause) “Holy Spirit, make me aware of Your presence.”
(2) RECEIVE — 3 minutes
Read a short passage slowly. Don’t rush. Pick one text and repeat it all week if you want.
Great options:
Then pray: “Lord, help me believe this.”
(3) RESPOND — 3 minutes
Talk to God honestly. Confess what’s real. Name what you’re carrying.
Try this:
“Father, thank You that in Christ I’m brought near.”
“Jesus, thank You that You made peace.”
“Spirit, help me walk with You today.”
(4) REST — 2 minutes This is the part we skip because it feels unproductive.
Just sit quietly. Not empty. Attentive.
If your mind wanders, don’t freak out. Just return.
“Father, I’m here.”
(5) OBEY — 1 minute
Ask two questions:
“What are You inviting me to trust today?”
“What do I need to obey today?”
Write one sentence down.
Then end with: “Holy Spirit, help me walk with You.”
That’s it. Ten minutes.
